Jay Zheng Physiotherapist / Chinese Medicine Practitioner

Jay Zheng is a highly trained practitioner with a unique dual background in Physiotherapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He completed his Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, before further advancing his expertise with dual Master’s degrees in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture at RMIT University, graduating as the top-performing student in both programs. Jay has extensive clinical experience working as a senior physiotherapist in public hospitals across Melbourne, as well as in private clinics, medical centres, and residential aged care settings. His diverse background allows him to manage a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and chronic health conditions. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in Chinese medicine, Jay was influenced from a young age by his grandfather, a respected TCM practitioner in Guangdong, China. He was introduced early to classical Chinese medicine texts and later mentored by Dr. Wang Lao, whose lineage traces back to physicians of the Qing Dynasty. This strong foundation continues to shape Jay’s holistic and thoughtful approach to patient care. Jay has a particular interest in pulse diagnosis, using it as a powerful tool to understand underlying health patterns and guide treatment. He is especially passionate about supporting women’s health and fertility, and is highly skilled in integrating physiotherapy techniques with acupuncture and herbal medicine to treat chronic pain and complex conditions. He believes that true health is holistic. Whether patients seek physiotherapy or Chinese medicine, Jay focuses on identifying the root cause of each condition and works collaboratively to develop personalised treatment plans. He is known for his attentive, thorough, and patient-centred approach. Outside of work, Jay enjoys meditation and reading classical Chinese medicine texts, continuing to deepen his knowledge and practice.
